About Me

Hi! I’m Jodie 🙂

and I’m a 30-year old perpetual traveller from the UK. By the age of 25, I’d lived in the UK, Honduras, Spain, Chile, and visited over 25 countries.

  • I’ve sandboarded down volcanos, learnt to scuba dive in the Bay Islands, and zip lined through rainforests in Central America.
  • I’ve seen the sunrise over the Uyuni Salt Flats in Bolivia, and hiked the Torres del Paine W trek in the Chilean Patagonia.
  • I’ve walked the Camino de Santiago across Northern Spain and drank port at the Port houses in Portugal.
  • I’ve climbed to the top of the Eiffel Tower in Paris, skied in the Alps and learnt to speak French in Nice.
  • I’ve ate gelato in front of the Trevi Fountain in Rome, island-hopped around Croatia, and swam in freshwaters lakes in Switzerland.
  • I’ve rode camels in the Sahara Desert and walked through ancient Egyptian tombs of Luxor.

The list goes on, but basically, travelling made me feel alive. On a visit back home to the UK, while planning my next move, covid hit and travel regulations forced me to stay in the UK. I dabbled with the idea of settling down, buying a house and maybe doing one of those career things, but I quickly realised it wasn’t for me. As soon as the world began opening up again I planned my escape, this time for a new adventure in Canada.

I’ve been living in Canada now for over a year, ticking off dream bucket list experiences I’d started to think I’d maybe never do: learning to snowboard in Banff National Park, ice skating on frozen Lake Louise, and driving the iconic Icefields Parkway.

I’m starting this travel blog as I go into the second year of my life in Canada, as a way to fully document my life and experiences here, and maybe provide some inspiration for anyone else entering their 30’s that it’s not too late to start travelling, there’s more to life than your small hometown, and most importantly of all, it’s very doable!
